About Psychotherapy for Young Women

Built for Gen Z and Millennials, Backed by a Decade of Experience

Psychotherapy for Young Women (PFYW) is a boutique therapy practice built specifically for Gen Z and Millennial women and couples in NYC navigating the unique challenges of a modern world. We are not your parents’ therapy, and that’s the point.

We know the pressure to have it all figured out, and how lonely, overwhelming, it can feel beneath the surface. We were there once. That’s why at PFYW, we lead with compassion, curiosity, and cultural awareness. Our team of all-female therapists is trauma-informed, person-centered, and deeply committed to creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are.

Whether you're processing anxiety, healing from heartbreak, or untangling old patterns, we’re here to offer support that actually resonates. Therapy doesn’t have to feel cold or clinical. It can feel like coming home to yourself.

Built on Real Connection. Focused on Real Change

Psychotherapy for Young Women was founded by Claudia Giolitti-Wright in 2015, after she discovered that her most meaningful and effective work happened when sitting across from young women and couples.

There was something uniquely powerful about those sessions. A natural connection that allowed her to truly see her clients, recognize their potential, and identify the internal blocks keeping them stuck in patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, and emotional pain.

This clarity led to deeper, more effective work. Transformations that felt real and lasting in a way she hadn’t seen with any other client group. Inspired by this breakthrough, Claudia dedicated her practice to supporting Gen Z and Millennial women and couples in NYC through the messy, beautiful chaos of becoming fully themselves.

So, What Makes PFYW Different?

At Psychotherapy for Young Women, we go deeper. Quick fixes can numb the pain, but we’re interested in lasting change. The kind that actually helps you heal, grow, and move forward. Our female therapists in NYC walk alongside you—not above you—offering real support, actionable tools, and a safe space to explore what’s really going on.

We help you build insight and skills, because knowing why you’re stuck is only half the battle. The rest is learning how to get unstuck, with guidance that’s thoughtful, personalized, and informed by women’s modern pressures. We offer both virtual therapy and in-person sessions at our Flatiron office

A Personal Note From Our Founder

Claudia Giolitti-Wright Female Therapist in NYC

I know firsthand how overwhelming it was to be a young woman struggling with relationships, anxiety, and self-worth in a world that often feels so demanding and critical of women. I remember the pressure, the self-doubt, the relentless inner critic, all while feeling there weren’t enough resources available that were specifically designed for me.

I tried everything! Yoga, meditation, and an older therapist that couldn’t understand at all what I was struggling with. Eventually, I found the right therapist and committed to my healing.

My own struggle to find the right support, someone who truly understood the unique challenges I was facing as a young woman, inspired me to create the kind of help I desperately needed but took far too long to find.

Today, Psychotherapy for Young Women is a growing practice of seven empowering female therapists who share the same passion: helping women and young couples in NYC untangle emotional roadblocks, reconnect with themselves, and build fulfilling relationships!

Yes, Affordable Therapy Does Exist!

We get it, mental healthcare can feel out of reach. At PFYW, we believe therapy should be accessible, not just for a select few, but for every young woman and couple in NYC who wants support.
