Good Faith Estimate

You are entitled to a "Good Faith Estimate" that outlines the anticipated costs of your medical care. By law, healthcare providers must provide an estimate for patients who are uninsured or not using insurance for medical items and services.

  • You are entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate detailing the total projected cost of any non-emergency services or items.

  • Ensure your healthcare provider delivers a written Good Faith Estimate at least one business day before your scheduled service or procedure. You may also request an estimate from your provider or any other provider of your choice before scheduling a service or item.

  • If the bill you receive exceeds your Good Faith Estimate by $400 or more, you have the right to dispute the charges.

  • Keep a copy or take a photo of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
